West Indies Playing 11 vs Pakistan- 3rd ODI, Pakistan tour of West Indies 2025:
Openers: Brandon King, Evin Lewis
The home team West Indies, would like to end the home season with a win in the third and final ODI against Pakistan and register much-needed confidence for the matches to come.
One of the concerns for the West Indies has been the lack of ability to win matches from a position of strength, and it has been the same story in multiple matches, with one of the two departments clicking in one match and failing in the other.
There haven’t been a lot of matches where the West Indies have delivered a complete performance, which has resulted in them losing the majority of the games in the recent past.
The Shai Hope-led side would like to get things corrected in the last match of the series against Pakistan and replicate the performance they delivered in all three departments in the last game.
The team is expected to go with the same playing XI that took the field in the second match of the series and will open the batting with Brandon King and Evin Lewis.
Both openers have shown sparks of good form but have not been able to prolong their innings.
King was in good form in the T20I series against Australia and would like to replicate the same form in the third of the three-match ODI series against Pakistan.
Lewis also would like to play a match-winning innings for his team, being one of the senior batters in the squad.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Keacy Carty, Shai Hope(wk/c), Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves
The middle order would hope to capitalize on the start provided by the top order batters and guide the team to an above-par total if they bat first.
The onus will be on captain Shai Hope to lead from the front, and he would expect to get good support from young batters like Keacy Carty, who has shown what he is capable of while batting at number three in the matches gone by.
This duo will be followed by Justin Greaves and Roston Chase, both of whom will also wish to make significant contributions with the bat.
The Windies will go with one fast bowling all-rounder in the form of Justin Graves, who will also fulfill the role of the finisher while batting at number seven.
Bowlers: Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales, Jediah Blades
The Windies would bank on their bowlers to pick wickets in the first powerplay and to keep up the good work in the middle and death overs, as well as the lack of wickets in the other two phases of the game has come to haunt the team.
The team’s fast bowling department will comprise three specialist fast bowlers, Jayden Seales, Shamar Joseph, and Jediah Blades.
Being the senior of the three fast bowlers, Seales will have to get things started as far as picking up wickets in the first powerplay is concerned, and will be assisted by Joseph and Blades.
The trio will be supported by Justin Greaves as the fast bowling all-rounder, who will look to stem the flow of runs from one end.
West Indies will go in the third ODI against Pakistan with one specialist spinner, Gudakesh Motie, with Roston Chase being the spin bowling all-rounder.
