West Indies Playing 11 vs England- 1st T20I, West Indies tour of England 2025:

Openers: Brandon King, Evin Lewis

Brandon King will open the innings with Evin Lewis in the first game of the ENG vs WI T20I series, scheduled to take place on June 6.

The pair will look to put on a strong opening partnership and shrug off a disappointing show in the recently concluded ODI series.

King and Lewis would like to make a fresh and aggressive start in the first game of the three-match series to stamp their authority on the format they are known to play their best cricket in.

Lewis, who missed the ODI series, is expected to be available for the first game, which will be a huge boost for West Indies as they have struggled with the form of their opening combination of late.

King, on the other hand, scored a fifty in the second ODI and would hope to begin the ODI series on a positive note.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Johnson Charles, Shai Hope (c & wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Roston Chase, Andre Russell

WI’s middle order will don a new look with the likes of Shimraon Hetmyer, Jason Holder, and Andre Russell at the helm, who will be supported by Johnson Charles, captain Shai Hope, and Roston Chase.

Jason Holder and Andre Russell, two of West Indies’ most experienced all-rounders, were not a part of the ODI squad.

The onus will be on captain Shai Hope to lead from the front, along with Shimron Hetmyer, who will look to break the string of low scores in the last few outings.

Roston Chase will also play a vital role with both bat and ball, as he will have the responsibility of batting in the middle order along with picking up wickets with the ball.

Bowlers: Gudakesh Motie, Alzarri Joseph, Matthew Forde

WI will pin their hopes on the fast bowling pair of Alzarri Joseph and Matthew Forde, both of whom bowled well in patches during the ODI series, with Joseph picking up four wickets in the second ODI.

The duo will be supported by Jason Holder, who might take the new ball and bowl an over or two in the powerplay.

It will be interesting to see if Andre Russell will bowl in the T20I series against England, as the fast-bowling all-rounder was very rarely used by KKR with the ball in IPL 2025.

The fast bowling department will have to create pressure with the new ball to make things easy for the spinners in the middle overs.

WI’s spin bowling will be handled once again by Roston Chase and Gudakesh Motie, both of whom looked ineffective in the ODI series.
