WATCH: Navjot Singh Sidhu and Gautam Gambhir perform ‘bhangra’ to express their joy after India’s Champions Trophy 2025 triumph

India have etched their name in history after their triumphant run in the Champions Trophy 2025 to win the coveted trophy for a historic third time. While celebrations and joy have erupted in the cricketing world after the majestic win, a special celebration from India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and former cricketer and sports broadcaster Navjot Singh Sidhu is stealing the hearts of cricketing fans around the globe.

Following India’s victory over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final, the Indian team’s head coach joined Sidhu for a lively post-match discussion on Star Sports. During the conversation, Gambhir jokingly asked Sidhu to let him recite a ‘sher’ that captured the essence of India’s remarkable win. In response, Sidhu, with his usual infectious enthusiasm, suggested that they celebrate in true Punjabi style by doing the bhangra, asking Gambhir to join him as a younger brother would to an elder.

Initially, Gambhir hesitated, clearly shy about dancing on live television, and tried to divert the conversation. However, Sidhu, with his playful insistence, was joined by Akash Chopra, both of them coaxing Gambhir back to the camera to show off a few moves. Sidhu kicked off the impromptu celebration with the upbeat and popular Punjabi track ‘sauda khara khara,’ and to everyone’s delight, the Indian head coach quickly jumped in, joining Sidhu in the dance. Gambhir, still a bit reserved but caught up in the infectious joy of the moment, contributed a few shy moves before pulling away to continue the celebrations elsewhere, giving Sidhu a warm hug, marking the end of a beautiful, spontaneous moment.
