Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s Test retirement announced after failure in Adelaide

Fans on Twitter reacted after the India National Cricket Team batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma failed to get going in the second innings of the ongoing second Test against the Australia National Cricket Team. Day 2 of the game between the teams is underway at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

Virat Kohli walked out early into the crease after the India National Cricket Team lost Yashasvi Jaiswal. But since the time he arrived at the crease, he didn’t look comfortable as he was beaten quite a few times by the pacers of the Australia National Cricket Team.

Virat Kohli, in particular, was tested by Scott Boland during his stay at the crease. The premier batter defended the ball and also took some quick singles but it was only a matter of time since he was back in the hut, especially with the number of times he was beaten.

Virat Kohli fell prey to Scott Boland as his pacer produced a peach of a delivery. The pacer bowled a delivery that was full and was pitched on the fourth-fifth stump line. The batter accounted for the angle as he lunged forward to defend the ball.

The ball, however, held its line, took the thick outside edge, and just about carried to Carey. The batter was beaten a couple of times against Boland off similar deliveries and then finally nicked one as the pacer picked his second wicket.

This was the second failure for Virat Kohli in the match. The premier batter ended with an innings of 11 runs off 21 balls and his knock included one boundary as well, which came through the edge. The batter scored just 7 runs off 8 balls in the first match.

With his wicket, India National Cricket Team came under massive pressure and lost their third wicket. They were left tottering at 66/3.

With Kohli back in the hut early, it was expected that senior pro-Rohit Sharma would step up and thrive under tough circumstances. With him being under pressure, it was expected that the captain would lead from the front and bail his team out of trouble. But that wasn’t the case.

Rohit Sharma, during his stay at the crease, also looked scratchy. Although he played a gorgeous drive, it was also a matter of time for him. Pat Cummins produced a peach of a delivery and hit the top of off as India’s captain departed after scoring 6 runs off 15 balls.
