RCB pacer Yash Dayal faces legal action over sexual harassment claim; woman turns to UP Chief Minister – Reports

Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal has been accused of sexual harassment, mental and physical assault by a woman from Uttar Pradesh. The allegations have led to an FIR being officially registered, and a formal complaint submitted to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office through the IGRS portal after the woman claimed her pleas were ignored by local authorities. She alleges a five-year-long deceptive relationship, marked by physical abuse, financial exploitation, and emotional trauma. As of now, Dayal has not issued any public statement, while the cricketing community remains shocked by the revelations.

Yash Dayal accused of sexual harassment and assault; FIR filed

According to the FIR, the woman claimed she had been in a committed relationship with Dayal for five years and had even met his family, believing they were headed toward marriage. She alleges Dayal emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially exploited her under the false promise of marriage, making her trust him completely. When she realized his ‘true intentions’ and confronted him, it allegedly led to physical assault. Her statement also reveals that Dayal had similar misleading relationships with other women, which ultimately pushed her to seek legal intervention. She stated that throughout their time together, Dayal borrowed money from her, subjected her to harassment, and later physically hurt her when she protested against his actions.

The complainant disclosed that she attempted to file her complaint with the police after calling the women’s helpline (181) on June 14, 2025, but the process stalled at the local police station. Feeling cornered and emotionally devastated, she decided to approach the Chief Minister’s office directly, submitting chat records, screenshots, photographs, and video call recordings as evidence. These materials, according to her, clearly substantiate her claims of ongoing abuse and deception.

Chief Minister’s office steps in after local inaction

After failing to get justice at the local level, the woman filed her complaint through Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s grievance portal, IGRS, seeking urgent attention and protection. According to the Sports Tak report, CM’s office has directed the Circle Officer (CO) of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, to submit a detailed report on the matter by July 21, 2025. The FIR, now public, outlines a disturbing timeline of trust, betrayal, and abuse, with the woman pleading for a thorough and swift investigation not only for her own justice but also for “other girls who fall victim to such deceitful relationships.”

Her FIR reads:

“For the past 5 years, the complainant had been in a relationship with a cricketer. The man emotionally, mentally, and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage. He introduced the complainant to his family and behaved like a husband, which made her trust him completely. When the complainant realized the deception and protested, she was subjected to physical violence and mental harassment. During the relationship, the complainant was also exploited financially and emotionally,”

“Later, it was found that the man was involved in similar false relationships with other girls too. On June 14, 2025, the complainant called the women’s helpline 181, but the process did not move forward at the police station. The complainant is mentally and socially distressed, and is seeking justice through the Chief Minister’s office. She has chat records, screenshots, video calls, and photos as evidence,”

“It has been requested that a swift investigation be conducted into the matter and that legal action be taken against the concerned individual. This step is not only important for her but also for all those girls who fall victim to such deceitful relationships,”

Dayal, who played a crucial role in Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)‘s long-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 championship, now finds himself at the center of an alarming controversy. He took 13 wickets in 15 matches, becoming one of the key pacers in RCB’s successful campaign that ended their 18-year-long title drought. However, his off-field conduct has come under intense scrutiny, and the franchise is yet to release an official statement on the matter. The case continues to draw media attention and public discourse, with many questioning the accountability of high-profile athletes. As the police conduct their investigation, Dayal’s cricketing future hangs in the balance, and the outcome could significantly affect not only his personal reputation but also his standing in Indian cricket. With a July 21 deadline set by the government, more developments are expected in the coming days.
