Man Utd captain ruled out of England vs USWNT at Wembley

Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy has been called up to the England squad to face the USA and Switzerland in upcoming friendly fixtures.

The 25-year-old has been called into the Lionesses camp to replace Manchester United captain Maya Le Tissier, who’s returned to her club under concussion protocol. So far, the FA have only ruled her out of the USA friendly and not the follow up against Switzerland, dependent on recovery.

Wubben-Moy has had a rocky start to the 2024/25 campaign, after dealing with concussion protocol herself, which ruled her out of the October international break.

Le Tissier has played every minute of the Women’s Super League (WSL) so far this season, as United currently occupy fourth spot in the standings following a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last Sunday.

Two of her United teammates received a deserved call up from head coach Sarina Wiegman, as both MillIe Turner and Gabby George return to the Lionesses squad.
