India National Cricket Team spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been sensational with the ball in the ongoing final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. Dubai International Cricket Stadium is hosting the match between the teams.
India wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been one of the key reasons why the team made a strong comeback despite a solid start from New Zealand. The Chinaman bowler removed both in-form batters Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson to break the backbone of the opposition.
However, despite that he received a brutal scolding by Virat Kohli. It happened during the 41st over when he came up with the sloppy effort on the field. On the 2nd ball of the over Michael Bracewell played a punch off the back foot wide of Ravindra Jadeja at the backward point.
As he ran single, he collided with Daryl Mitchell. Ravindra Jadeja seized an opportunity and attempted a direct hit but missed. Kuldeep Yadav was not near the stumps, and had it been the case, India would’ve got the crucial breakthrough.
This didn’t go well with Virat Kohli as well as Ravindra Jadeja as they were seen fuming at Kuldeep Yadav.

Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for India in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Kuldeep Yadav had a great day with the ball as he was the pick of the bowlers for India in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The wrist-spinner returned with the figures of 2/40 in the 10 overs that he bowled, having an economy of just 4 during his spell.
Along with Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy was the key with the ball for India. The mystery spinner picked two wickets and returned with the figures of 2/45, removing Will Young and Glenn Phillips in his spell to help his team restrict the opposition to 251.
All I could do was stick it into the stump line and wait for the batter to make some mistake – Varun Chakravarthy
Varun Chakravarthy talked about his performance, saying that he kept his focus on bowling at the stumps and wanted the batter to make a mistake. He stressed that he enjoys bowling in death and the powerplay, adding that he talks to his fellow spinners.
“It was a good wicket compared to the last wicket. It was not turning much. All I could do was stick it into the stump line and wait for the batter to make some mistake. I like bowling in the death and the powerplay, it is more challenging and gives me more opportunity to pick wickets.
“I like talking to Kuldeep, even Jaddu bhai and Axar, I am pretty new to this setup and am looking to build some nice bonds. It (the right foot) is a little sore. It is a gettable score if we bat well initially.”
