Jasprit Bumrah RULED OUT of entire tournament? Fresh report reveals




Mumbai Indians have faced a blow ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all set to miss the first few games of the league owing to the back injury that he faced in Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action for the last few months. The pacer faced a back injury during the last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Bowling over 150 overs in the series surely took a lot out of him and troubled him.

Since then Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t played a single game. He missed the England T20Is and ODIs and to worsen the case more, he also was ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Thankfully, his absence didn’t cost India much as they went on to win the tournament without losing a single game.

Jasprit Bumrah was expected to make his comeback in the IPL 2025 but the fast bowler is yet to attain his fitness. He has been recovering from a stress-related injury in his lower back and will be taking some more time to recover before he returns to the field.

Jasprit Bumrah will be missing the first few matches of the IPL 2025, but there isn’t any clarity on how many matches he will be missing. The reports claimed that he would be joining the Mumbai Indians squad in early April, subject to clearance from the medical team at BCCI CoE.

The report from ESPNCricinfo added that there is no confirmation about how many matches he will miss. “It could not be confirmed exactly how many matches Bumrah would miss and if there was a definite date of return.” read a report.

Jasprit Bumrah missing the first few games of the IPL 2025 will be a massive blow for the Mumbai Indians. The franchise will now be reliant on Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Reece Topley, Corbin Bosch, Arjun Tendulkar, Satyanarayana Raju, Ashwani Kumar, as well as all-rounders – captain Hardik Pandya, and Raj Angad Bawa.

Mumbai Indians will then play their first match at home in Wankhede Stadium. They will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 31 before traveling to Lucknow to face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 4 and then coming back home to host Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 7.
