Europa League: Nice v Rangers

Match Preview

Under-pressure Rangers boss Philippe Clement will be hoping for a much-needed win at Nice tomorrow night in the Europa League.

Rangers slipped 11 points behind arch-rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend following a 1-1 draw with Dundee United at Ibrox while they are also nine adrift of second-placed Aberdeen.

Performances domestically have been poor although they have played reasonably well in Europe.

A 4-1 defeat at home to Lyon was the only blip with wins over Malmo and Steaua Bucharest and a creditable 1-1 draw at Olympiacos meaning Rangers sit 10th in the table.

Nice will be tricky opposition, however, with Franck Haise’s men on a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Sunday’s 2-1 win over Strasbourg moved them up to fifth in Ligue 1.
