Champions League: Manchester City v Feyenoord

Match Preview

If Manchester City fans thought news of Pep Guardiola’s contract extension would inspire the players against Tottenham on Saturday they were sadly mistaken.

City suffered a fifth straight defeat in all competitions at the weekend with Spurs cruising to a 4-0 win at the Etihad.

It’s unchartered territory for Guardiola with his side looking bereft of ideas after a bright start.

They will welcome the chance to play again so soon with a clash against Feyenoord offering a swift chance at redemption.

The Rotterdammers are fourth in the Eredivisie after the weekend win over Heerenveen and have a mixed record in the Champions League with two wins and two defeats to far.

Interestingly, their two victories have come on the road against Girona and Benfica.
