Going into the Manchester Test, India is likely to make several changes in the Playing 11. After Nitish Kumar Reddy was ruled out, India is keeping their probable eye on either Dhruv Jurel or Sai Sudharsan as his replacement.
Yesterday, Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj said that Jasprit Bumrah is all set to star for India in the Fourth Test at Old Trafford. Bumrah’s availability has been a major concern in this series, as it was predetermined that Bumrah would be playing in only 3 of the 5 games.
But with the current scoreline of 1-2 and the nine-day-long gap after the last Test match concluded at Lord’s, Jasprit Bumrah might have had enough rest to keep the workload under control.
Nitish Kumar Reddy’s replacement announced for the Manchester Test
Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy played for the Men in Blue at Birmingham and then at Lord’s. However, now Nitish Kumar Reddy has gone down with a left-knee injury and is supposed to fly back to India. Nitish Kumar Reddy got injured while training in the gym.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is likely to be replaced by either Dhruv Jurel or Sai Sudharsan. Rishabh Pant has shown positive signs, as he is looking all set to keep; however, if India still has doubts looming over him, they might keep Jurel as the backup in the playing 11.
If not, then dynamic batsman Sai Sudharsan is all set to make his Team India comeback, as he remains hungry for opportunities after having made his debut at Headingley.
Jasprit Bumrah to be available at Manchester and The Oval
On Monday, the morning of 21st July, Jasprit Bumrah was seen in a long animated conversation with the Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir and the chief selector Ajit Agarkar.
Soon after this, he eased into the nets, bowling his long spells, before he picked up the bat for a hit. Rain is forecasted for the coming three days of the five scheduled days for the fourth Test at Manchester, as a result of which Bumrah’s workload will decrease further.
If Bumrah bowls less at Manchester due to the rain affecting game time, this would open the door for him to play for India at The Oval as well. The final Test is scheduled to begin on the 31st of July, just three days after the end of the Manchester Test.

Anshul Kamboj to receive debut cap in Manchester
India’s pace attack has faced a serious concern in the England series, especially with a set of injury setbacks. As per reports, Arshdeep Singh has already been ruled out due to an injury to his bowling hand.
While Akash Deep is also nursing a groin issue and will be watched over for 24 hours before the Indian management makes any decision on his availability. Among all, Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was ruled out due to a knee injury, has been replaced by Anshul Kamboj.
The 24-year-old Haryana pacer has picked 79 wickets in first-class cricket, while he also had a strong performance for India A in England just before the onset of this series. Without any rest, he was immediately seen in action, steaming in with the new ball in the nets under the watchful eye of Gautam Gambhir and bowling coach Morne Morkel.
Kamboj might be in line to receive his debut cap in Manchester; however, Prasidh Krishna stands in his way. Though the bowler has been uneconomical, he has had considerable experience bowling under crunch situations since he was part of both the Leeds and Birmingham Tests.
