In a humorous and candid moment, former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan recently shared an amusing story from the early days of his career when he used to “smuggle” his then-girlfriend into the hotel room Dhawan shared with teammate Rohit Sharma during the India A tour of Australia in 2006.

From time to time, Rohit would express his mild annoyance in Hindi, asking if he would ever be allowed to sleep, as mentioned in Dhawan’s autobiography, according to Sportstar.

After every game, I would go over to meet up with Ellen (not her real name), and I soon started smuggling her into my hotel room, which I was sharing with Rohit Sharma. Dhawan also shares when the two were spotted by the selector
One evening, when Dhawan headed for dinner with Ellen, news of her presence spread like wildfire throughout the entire squad. A senior national selector, who was on tour with the team, spotted them walking in the lobby with their hands linked, Dhawan further added in his autobiography, as quoted by Sportstar.
