Cricket Ireland announces full international schedule for action-packed summer 2025

Cricket Ireland on Tuesday, March 11, announced the action-packed schedule for the exciting summer, as several international teams are set to visit Ireland for the multi-format series. Over the next six months, Ireland’s men’s and women’s teams will face England, West Indies, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe in the home fixtures.

Ireland’s summer will kick off with the West Indies touring the country for a thrilling ODI and T20I series in May and June. Later in July and August, the Zimbabwe and Pakistan women’s teams will visit Ireland for the white-ball series.

Ireland set for blockbuster summer against England, West Indies, and more

Adding to the excitement, the England cricket team is set to play their first-ever T20I series in Ireland in September. Meanwhile, Ireland’s women’s team will battle in two ICC World Cup qualifier tournaments to secure their spot on the global stage.

After the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Pakistan, the Ireland Wolves squad will travel to the UAE for a multi-format tour against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. This tour will provide valuable experience for emerging talent.

On the domestic front, the upcoming season will see several major upgrades. The men’s interprovincial T20 competition will be expanded and played as a series of three-day competitions in June and July. The Evoke Super Series will also see the introduction of the two-day T20 festivals to enhance the women’s game.

Additionally, two-day red-ball cricket will be introduced in the men’s Future Series, while the highly anticipated European T20 Premier League is set to launch in July. Notably, a new Supporters Club will be unveiled before ticketing and hospitality packages go on sale to further engage fans.

Ireland cancelled the series against Afghanistan due to financial struggles

Warren Deutrom, Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland, said in an official media release: “As we say, it’s summer; it must be cricket. And this summer Irish fans will be able to enjoy some of the world’s best cricketers playing on these shores. On the men’s side, we have West Indies and England here, while Pakistan’s and Zimbabwe’s women’s sides will tour as well.”

Deutrom further added, “One planned series that won’t go ahead for financial reasons is against Afghanistan. This decision is part of our management of short-term budgetary constraints, as well as our requirement to comply with the Board’s mandate to deliver balanced investment across the organization’s strategic objectives.”
