But so far, Royal Challengers Bengaluru haven’t had a captaincy material player in their ranks. They also didn’t retain Faf Du Plessis, and this has made many speculate about the captain of the team. Kohli’s name yet again has gained the spotlight, especially with a leadership role on offer.

He said that although they haven’t decided on the captaincy, Virat Kohli is the central figure for the team. He also revealed that the batter also dropped messages after the team’s picks on Day 1 of the auction. Speaking to Jio Cinema, he explained:
“Virat is a central figure, he is a senior member of the team. But we haven’t made any decision when it comes to captaincy. We will decide later on. He dropped a few hot text messages to us yesterday, giving us feedback.”
